I’m happy to hear from students, colleagues, and others with questions about my work or ideas for collaboration.
A word of warning, though: I’m not always good at replying promptly. I have many demands on my time, and I’m afraid I sometimes fail to respond to messages, especially ones that require careful thought. If you’ve written to me before and didn’t get a reply, I apologize. It probably means I felt your message deserved a proper response and kept putting it off until I had time to write one. Please feel free to send it again.
There are some requests I can’t help with, however, much I’d like to. I don’t have time to offer feedback on unsolicited papers or manuscripts, to discuss theories or ideas about consciousness that people send me, or to take on unpaid reviewing work for journals and publishers. I have to prioritize commitments I’ve already made.
